Many popular workouts and routines promote “6 pack abs” at the expense of true core strength in addition to creating weak low back muscles and rounded shoulders. Think about what this means! Not only do you have poor posture YOUR body’s most important systems are being constantly squeezed, not able to function at 100%. Digestion, lung capacity and cardio health are all compromised.

HOT Yoga (the Bikram method) is a series of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises done in a heated room. Classes are 90 minutes long, the Standing Series is approximately 55 minutes followed by a 2 minute Savasana (resting pose) and then the Floor Series follows. Most all the postures are done twice, first set is diagnostic, the 2nd set is therapeutic. Stretching, strengthening, creating balance and endurance as well as increasing range of motion. The Savasanas in between the sets and postures in the floor series gives your body a chance to allow the circulation to return to normal, really flushing through the whole body at high speed!  Keeping the “insides” functioning at their best (cardio-vascular system, digestive system, central nervous system, etc….)

HOT Yoga is also an excellent way to rehabilitate injuries- increasing circulation to promote healing.
